Rhuaridh Buchanan established Buchanans Cheesemonger as a result of his fascination with delicious food and great service. After several years managing fine dining restaurants, he passed up the opportunity to work with Thomas Keller in New York in order to train as an affineur in the maturing rooms of world famous cheesemongers Paxton and Whitfield. Rhuaridh has since spent most of the last 15 years training and working with some of the most respected cheesemongers, cheese makers, affineurs and artisans.

 

Rhuaridh is particularly passionate about food service having spent almost 10 years at the coal face in some of the country’s top restaurants, he is acutely aware of the needs of a busy kitchen and what it takes to deliver the perfect plate of cheese.
